Text message terms
LedgerEviction is a service of The Ledger Law Firm. This page is the terms of the texts we send about your case.
What the texts are
LedgerEviction case updates are text messages about your own eviction case: that a step in your case was reached, that a document is approved and in your document vault, or a reply from the firm to a message about your case. Each text carries a link to your case tracker. We do not send marketing by text.
How you turn them on
Texts go only to a client who asked for them, in one of two places: the box under the mobile number on the order form, or the switch in your case tracker. Nobody is added by a staff member without a record of where you gave consent. Until you turn them on, updates come by email only.
How many
The number of texts varies with your case. One goes when a step in your case changes or a document is ready; there is no fixed schedule.
What they cost
We do not charge for the texts. Your carrier may: message and data rates may apply under your mobile plan.
How to stop
Reply STOP to any of our texts. You will receive one message confirming you are opted out, and no further texts until you reply START. Your case tracker shows texts as stopped, and email updates continue. You can also turn texts off with the switch in your case tracker.
Help
Reply HELP to any of our texts, or call (800) 300-0001.
The number
Our texts come from (949) 828-5031. Replies to it other than STOP, START and HELP are kept with your case and read by the firm, but it is not a line for urgent matters; for those, call the number above.
Delivery
Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. A text that cannot be delivered is noted on your case and the update still goes by email.
Your information
Your mobile number and your consent to texts are used only for these texts and your case. They are not sold or shared with anyone for marketing. Our privacy page says what else this site keeps and why.
